Skilled Nursing Facility


The skilled services of physicians, nurses, physical, occupational, and speech therapist, and other clinicians work together to assist each patient/resident to achieve their individual goals.

Following an acute health episode, we work with you to map your recovery and return you to your home or another level of care.

The nursing home also offers:

* Innovative life enrichment activities appealing to your comfort and allow you to explore new interests,

* Private ans shared rooms to relax, rest, and recuperate,

*Delicious meals supervised by a certified manager and approved by a licenses dietitian, and

* 24-hour Registered Nurse coverage and supervision of health needs for people who need clinical oversight from medically complex to steady care and services.

Assisted Residence (Traditional Assisted Living)

Residents enjoy socializing with new and old friends, participating in life enriching activities, and traveling on outings to restaurants and shopping.

Individualized personal assistance with activities of daily living are determined through a series of assessments by one's physician and our registered nurse and additional clinical support.  Reassessments are conducted on an as-needed basis and semi-annually.  The convenience of living in a continuum of care offers quick attention to one's change in condition and the ability to provide necessary services for an individual to stay at their highest functioning level.

Private studio, one-bedroom, and two bedroom apartments are offered for residents who wish to maintain their highest level of independence within this supportive and caring environment.  Apartments and equipped with a kitchenette and a private handicap-accessible bathroom. 

Memory Support Care Assisted Residence 

Our calm memory support neighborhood enhances the lives of those with Alzheimer's Disease, Lewy-body Disease, Cardiovascular dementia or other forms of memory impairment.

In addition to the information described for Assisted Residence, great care has been taken to ensure that the staff are especially trained as dementia practitioners.  Implementing current treatment techniques and understanding different disease processes, staff can encourage individual memory impaired residents to live to their fullest.  

Retirement Living at The Alsatian

Be with old friends and meet new ones too when you move into The Alsatian.  Built in 2001, this beautiful 3-story building offers a variety of apartments to fit your style.  Life enrichment activities and other opportunities are available for all residents to enjoy. 

Delicious evening meals prepared by our chef is just one of the many items included in your monthly rent.  Also included are all utilities, wi-fi, cable and phone service; housekeeping, maintenance, scheduled transportation for outings and shopping, and life enrichment activities.  An emergency call system is in place in each apartment, public restroom and community spaces to obtain assistance and to provide peace of mind.  

Garages and limited concierge service are available for an additional fee.

Catholic Charities/Adult Day Services 

In partnership with Catholic Charities of Stark and Portage Counties, this program is designed to help families who care for loved ones at home.  Catholic Charities provides a weekday program on our

St. Joseph campus in a homelike atmosphere. Participants enjoy spending time with others, nutritious services, and a variety of activities throughout the day. Physical, occupational, and speech therapy are available as ordered by one's physician.  Learn more about full and half day options to fit with your schedule at
